Wii Gift Channel for Christmas?

Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata talked about a new Wii Channel that allows players to buy Virtual Console games and send them to their friends as gifts. Now the new channel has been confirmed for a worldwide release this December:
Lanching worldwide in December, Satoru Iwata has confirmed.
“The new option will enable gamers to send games purchased in the Wii Shop Channel to other Wii owners as a gift - a brilliant idea, we say.”

I still think it is ridiculous that Nintendo is more worried about stuff like the Wii VC gift channel than more important stuff like REAL SD card support for VC games.
I think they need to be more worried about adding needed features first. I mean why can’t you just buy a Wii Point card for the receiver.
Still it’s nice to give someone a game they didn’t get just yet on the VC. So it may be a good thing!
…..I doubt i’ll get anything…
