Smash Bros. DOJO Confirms 4:3 Ratio Support!

November 27th, 2007

It’s official. Super Smash Bros. Brawl will have full 4:3 screen ratio support. So, those of you who don’t have widescreen television sets can still enjoy Brawl with perfectly proportional characters and images.

3 FOR BRAWL

On a more serious note, this update was nothing spectacular, or anything that most of us probably didn’t know. Why can’t the game detect the correct ratio automatically based off of the Wii system settings (like many 1st party Wii titles)? Also, a new Donkey Kong remix theme was added to the Dojo. It is an electronic sounding, updated version of the music from the original Donkey Kong game. It’s definitely not the DK Rap.

Woah.. that wasn’t funny at all.

I think you didn’t get the whole update thing.

We already knew that 4:3 was supported, it’s obvious. But a lot of us wondered what would happen with the 16:9 mode and how the ‘limits’ for the stages would work and how would this affect if a person playing 4:3 and another playing 16:9 are on the same online game.

But yeah.. way to make fun of something that was actually kind of useful.

Where did I say it wasn’t useful?  Every update (even the most recent one) was useful in one way or the other.  I just want to know why the ratio has to be set manually… maybe some people want to see stretched out characters?
