Gamespot just released a special report on the reason why of the firing veteran editor Jeff Gerstmann after giving Kane & Lynch a low review score, which was then edited, heavily according to Gamespot to match the review’s 6.0 score… so they edited Jeff’s review to give it the same score? I don’t understand the logic, do you?

You can read this article first to get caught up with this controversy.

Q: Why was Jeff fired?

A: Legally, the exact reasons behind his dismissal cannot be revealed. However, they stemmed from issues unrelated to any publisher or advertiser; his departure was due purely for internal reasons.

Then why even bother posting this “special report”? if you are not going to tell us the truth, don’t bother to explain your excuses Gamespot.

Q: Why was the Kane & Lynch video review taken down?

A: Both the text and video reviews of Kane & Lynch went up on Tuesday, November 13. The morning of Wednesday, November 14, the video was taken down due to concerns of quality. Specifically, its audio was deemed inferior due to a faulty microphone. There were also concerns about the limited amount of footage, which was unrepresentative of the game in the review.

It it was a technical difficulty why wasn’t the video re-posted after it was optimized?

A: Due to the crush of high-profile games being released the following week, there were insufficient resources to reshoot and re-edit the video review.

Ok so they are saying that you can dedicate a team of at least 2-3 web designers to take off Eidos’ advertisings throughout the whole Gamespot site, but you could not spend 10-15 minutes optimizing the video for it to be re-released? can anyone else say it with me… BS and desperate move by Gamespot.

Their excuses are ridiculously impossible to believe, if you still even care for Gamepot, you can check you the full press release here.
