For now this will only work in Japan with the companies NTT DoCoMo and au by KDDI.

The service will be available from this month and you will be able to purchase the 1,000, 3,000 and 5,000 point cards with no extra charge at all.

This seems like a good way to get the needed points for Pokemon Snap, released today for the japanese Virtual Console market.
